The Darker Side Of Success

Many business owners are always shocked that their own family and friends don't really support them, don't buy from them or recommend them. That their nearest and dearest think they're 'playing' at working and don't take them seriously. I've heard that so many times it doesn't surprise me any more, which is really sad I know :(

But the flip side of that, is when you actually become visibly successful, so that people can't help but take you seriously. Then you may be faced with disloyalty, with jealousy, and sometimes with being cut off completely by the people who don't like to be proved wrong.

How do you deal with that? Well, you keep your chin up, hold your head high, and you keep going. And then
go some more. You carry on doing what you're doing, keep focused on the goal, and know that if you're having an impact of that kind then you're obviously doing something right. The right people will support you in your journey, and cheer you on in your successes.

It's a very difficult to deal with this though. If you've felt as though you've needed to seek approval or acceptance from people in the past, you're typically going to feel devastated when you experience these things, but trust me, if your circle isn't cheering you on, you need a new circle.
